Mark Murphy has been in real estate for nearly 20 years. When he was 18, he was left a trust fund of $5,000 from his late mother, and a savvy banker advised him to deposit the funds, request a LOC for the same amount, and buy a house. Mark purchased his first townhome at an early age and was blessed to have earned $50,000 in rapid appreciation from 2002 to 2004. He used the money to travel the world and, upon his return, had enough to reinvest into an apartment, of which he still owns. He is also part owner of two suited single family homes and two additional apartments.
In 2013, Mark started a company called StrataWork.ca which assists strata corporations in managing their business affairs. In 2015, he and a group of partners started Stronghold Management Inc in Abbotsford. He was an acting director until regretfully one of the managing partners passed away and the business was closed. Mark continues to be active in the real estate industry today, working for PeeverConn Properties Inc and SuperSuites.ca.
At his core, Mark is a family man. He is a father of four kids and is engaged to his soon-to-be wife Lisa. Real estate began as a hobby and, although there have been successes, there have been equal hardships. In 2008, Mark and his father were a team and were invested in four single family homes. Regretfully his father passed away in late 2008, at the exact same time the U.S. subprime housing crisis crushed the market. For several years, he struggled to hang on, and through those tough times had to learn a lot about real estate and why things happen the way they do.
